Nuela Charles is a four-time JUNO-nominated, Edmonton-based cinematic alternative-soul artist who has spent more than a decade building a career on her own terms. She was born in Kenya and grew up between Switzerland, the Bahamas and Canada, and her music reflects that range. Her songs have landed more than 40 sync placements, including the Paris Olympics, ESPN and Jane the Virgin. “Crumbling Down” spent seven weeks at #1 on CBC Radio 2, and she has showcased internationally at Germany’s Reeperbahn Festival and on the UK Music Managers Forum Export Mission. Her latest album, NU2U, was nominated for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year at the 2026 JUNOs.
Nuela has managed herself from the start, handling her own grants, sync licensing, touring, PR and release strategy, and she runs her career through her company, Nuela Charles Music Inc. She now shares that hands-on knowledge with other artists through A2A (Artist 2 Artists), a boutique consultancy that helps independent musicians build careers that last.
