Paint Drying is noisy garage rock – simple in the right ways, catchy in the wrong ones. It’s music that’s meant to be blasted on your boombox while you relax in your tub, or through your Fisher-Price Tape recorder that sits on the dash of your Ford F-350 (Harley Davidson edition). Their 2025 release “Luncheon Moon” saw them stretching out their songs and taking bigger production swings. Earshot! called it a “perfectly gritty semi surrealistic art-punk track, sure to cleanse the mind of the everyday mundane”, while the B-side ‘Umbilical Stain’ was described by Cups n Cakes as having “…an undeniable slacker rock quality… with a laid-back, ‘let’s make some fuckin’ noise’ attitude”.
Anyone who has seen them live would agree, there’s nothing better than watching Paint Drying.
