Open Eyes is a mellow-dramatic power trio from Treaty 6 Edmonton, AB with an emotionally charged sound. Their raw sound and honest lyrics fuse the intensity and spirit of punk music into a medium for self-introspection, set to an explosive and dynamic soundtrack.
Open Eyes was formed in 2019 by Eric Budd (guitar and vocals), Leith Brownridge (bass) and John Watson (drums). This power trio is rooted in their 30 years of friendship, playing in adjacent bands in the underground Edmonton music scene.
Open Eyes debut 10-song album “Illuminated” was released on November 15, 2024 marking a powerful new chapter in their sonic journey. “Illuminated” was recorded at the Physics Lab in Edmonton, AB by Rob Lawless and mixed/mastered by Terry Paholek. The new album entered the local CJSR 88.5FM charts at #1 the week it was released.
