For more than 20 years, DJ Sonny Grimez has been a staple in the Edmonton DJ scene
spinning everything from classic and contemporary Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall/Reggae to
House and Disco. He has held many residencies in Edmonton, and opened for the likes
of DJ Jazzy Jeff, Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Busta Rhymes, and many others.
Sonny Grimez has toured Canada and showcased at nationally and internationally in
Europe, Asia, and the US. Both as a solo artist and as a member of the multiple-award
nominated hip-hop group Politic Live, and is currently the DJ for Edmonton’s own Arlo
Maverick. He has also been the host of the award-winning hip hop radio show ‘If Hooks
Could Kill’ on CJSR in Edmonton for the last 12 years.
